{"id":415,"date":"2017-03-21T21:49:47","date_gmt":"2017-03-21T21:49:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.digitalija.info\/?p=415"},"modified":"2017-03-21T22:08:29","modified_gmt":"2017-03-21T22:08:29","slug":"steve-jobs-first-ever-computer-the-apple-1-goes-under-the-hammer-but-would-you-fork-out-a-quarter-of-a-million-for-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hepek.info\/portal\/en\/steve-jobs-first-ever-computer-the-apple-1-goes-under-the-hammer-but-would-you-fork-out-a-quarter-of-a-million-for-it\/","title":{"rendered":"Steve Jobs\u2019 first ever computer the Apple-1 goes under the hammer \u2013 but would you fork out a quarter of a million for it?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE finest known example of Apple\u2019s first computer is up for grabs\u00a0\u2013 but it will set you back a lot more than a new iPhone.<br \/>\nMade in 1976, the Apple-1 has all its original documents and records of phone calls between company founders Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.digitalija.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Apple_I.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s expected to fetch up to L262,000 at auction, in the tenth anniversary of the iPhone.<br \/>\nIt is one of only eight working examples left in the world.<br \/>\nThe Apple-1 was designed and built by hand by Wozniak in Silicon Valley<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He began marketing it along with Steve Jobs through the electronics chain Byte Shop in 1976, after the retailer bought the first 50 units.<br \/>\nIn total, only 200 examples of the Apple-1 were ever made. They originally went on sale for L545, (US $666.66) as Wozniak liked repeating numbers.<br \/>\nIt was the first PC that came ready to use with a monitor and keyboard, but would have been delivered as just the motherboard.<br \/>\nThat meant customers would have to find their own power pack, keyboard, monitor and cassette recorder of their own.<br \/>\nThis version\u00a0comes complete with the necessary equipment to make it work, as well as proof of telephone correspondence with Wozniak and Jobs.<\/p>\n<p>It also contains the original card and the original early 6502 microprocessor in a rare white ceramic design.<br \/>\nThe card contains the software system Basic, which was only available for Apple-1 at the beginning of 1977.<br \/>\nThe computer is being auctioned by Auction Team Breker in Cologne, Germany, on March 20.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wTgyll6IqJY\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tech.de\/news\/apple-1-erster-apple-computer-kommt-mai-unter-hammer-10093332.html\">source<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breker.com\/english\/Apple_1.htm\">source2<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/3084767\/steve-jobs-first-ever-computer-the-apple-1-goes-under-the-hammer-but-would-you-fork-out-a-quarter-of-a-million-for-it\/\">source3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE finest known example of Apple\u2019s first computer is up for grabs\u00a0\u2013 but it will set you back a lot more than a new iPhone.
