Normally, it\u2019s a third-party or counterfeit charger or charging cable that\u2019s to blame. A report out of China brings us the story of a Galaxy Note 7 that apparently blew up while it was being charged using a USB Type-C converter. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalija.info\/en\/tag\/galaxy-note-7\/\">Galaxy Note 7<\/a> is Samsung\u2019s brand new flagship smartphone and it certainly won\u2019t look good for the handset if this is being caused due to an inherent issue with the device, but that doesn\u2019t appear to be the case here.<br \/>\n<a title=\"galaxy-note-7-burnt-2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/143005070@N05\/29103193492\/in\/album-72157669721849680\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/c5.staticflickr.com\/9\/8191\/29103193492_1384aa55e1.jpg\" alt=\"galaxy-note-7-burnt-2\" width=\"500\" height=\"371\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The pictures clearly show that this is a Galaxy Note 7 that has certainly seen better days. The device is burnt to a crisp and will be of no use to anybody.<br \/>\n<a title=\"galaxy-note-7-burnt-1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/143005070@N05\/29103193402\/in\/album-72157669721849680\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/c3.staticflickr.com\/9\/8281\/29103193402_405ff941a4.jpg\" alt=\"galaxy-note-7-burnt-1\" width=\"380\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nIt\u2019s not known at this point in time whether the handset was being charged using a third-party USB Type-C converter or the one that Samsung ships with the handset in the box.<\/p>\n<p>To be on the safe side, you must always use the original charger and cable that comes with your mobile device, and in the Galaxy Note 7\u2019s case that also applies to the USB Type-C converter as well.<br \/>\n<a title=\"galaxy-note-7-burnt-3\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/143005070@N05\/29103193522\/in\/album-72157669721849680\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/c3.staticflickr.com\/9\/8491\/29103193522_ac55345b18.jpg\" alt=\"galaxy-note-7-burnt-3\" width=\"343\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nSamsung hasn\u2019t said yet if it\u2019s looking into the incident though all signs point to an issue with the charging setup and not with the actual device itself.
